A new economic impact report recently compiled by Tripp Umbach, one of the nation’s leading consultancy group for higher education institutions, details UC San Diego’s estimated $16.5 billion in annual economic impact in California—more than the entire annual revenue of the state of Arizona. Umbach completed the report using the university’s official numbers from fiscal year 2018.
